Chicken and Dumplings
Got a two for one today, I will post the next one right after this.
Chicken and dumplings not one of my favorite meals but if done right can taste really good. However I have made this dish many times before.
Chicken Stock
Chicken (can be any type, would recommend deboned)
Dumpling
Salt
Pepper
Garlic Salt
Italian Seasoning
Water
First you add the chicken to the water, use enough water that it will cover your chicken, add salt and pepper and your garlic salt and let it boil. The chicken will release oil and you will need to skim it off the top. Once the chicken is falling apart, drain some of the broth off and add your chicken stock to it. I really eyeball the amount here based on how many people I am serving this dish to. Next I am going to add more salt pepper, garlic salt and now add your italian seasoning. Allow it this to cook for 5 minutes longer.
Now I prefer flat dumplings, there is a particular brand that you can buy in the freezer section of your local grocery store but it is up to you if you want to make drop dumplings, or what not. I have even heard of taken a cheap thing of tubed biscuits you can buy in the store and pinching it off. This is a complete choice on your part.
With that added let that cook until tender almost similar to noodles you want them just right.
Make sure you add more salt and pepper to taste if you feel it isn't seasoned well enough.
And that is it.
Enjoy,
